Hidden Gems of Cornwall

Cornwall Hidden Gems

My family have just moved to St Austell, Cornwall, and as I’m new to the area, I sometimes struggle to find fun things to do in Cornwall. So, here’s my ultimate bucket list to experience over the next few weeks. I’ll be adding more each week, and I’m so excited to be sharing my adventures with you here on our blog!

Navigate the cycle paths at Pentewan

I’d love to walk or cycle the paths of Pentewan. With a 7.5mile route, it will take approximately 40min by bike, or 2.5hours by foot. As a little treat, I plan to finish off with a burger at Hubbox on the beach. I mean who wouldn’t love that?

Take the ferry from Falmouth to St. Mawes

Even when I was little, I loved ferries. I’m not going to lie, I love being up on deck and feeling like a character in a dramatic movie, with the wind in my hair! I’m especially looking forward to sea glass hunting once in St Mawes, which I’m sure will also bring out the inner child in me! There are also insane coves and beaches around St Anthony’s Head, which will be an amazing day out for the whole family.

Visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan

The Lost Gardens (botanical gardens) look amazing. The website’s intro reads, “Heligan’s historic gardens were unknown and unseen; lost to the brambles of time since the outbreak of WW1. It was only the chance discovery of a door in the ruins that led to the restoration of this once great estate.” Wow. If that doesn’t intrigue you I don’t know what will!

Get festive at the Eden Project

I can't wait to experience the magic of Christmas at the Eden Project! The twinkling Mediterranean Biome and festive cheer of the Big Band. A stroll through the enchanted rainforest, and the mesmerising illuminated waterfall! I so excited!
