Located on Queen Street, this incredible Gallery opened to the public in 1889 as the world’s first purpose-built portrait gallery. Free entry and a must place to visit whenever you're in Edinburgh. Wether you are one who enjoys galleries or not, the central hall is simply breathtaking so it’s defiantly worth going even just to admire the building itself.

Grassmarket

Located in the heart of Edinburgh's historic Old Town, the Grassmarket area is a must visit. Known for being one of the most picturesque and vibrant areas of the city, this little gem is full of restaurants, bars, shops and more. The well preserved cobbled streets and medieval architecture create the perfect scenery, a place that will keep you entertained for hours!

Inchcolm Abbey and Island

Inchcolm Abbey was established on this island originally as a priory by David I back in 1235. This Island offers breathtaking views and a great amount of history. The Abbey is a wonderful place to explore, there are lots of local wildlife and wartime buildings to look out for. You could easily spend all day here as there is so much to see!
